► I got this job through a friend’s recommendation. I had gone through two interviews. The interview was mainly involved me answering questions around my existing skills and knowledge about the job and whether these could be applied in the position.
► Since my final term (approximately four months before course completion), I made several job applications online, as well as making applications through employment agencies in UK market. I was very fortunate that I got the job just two weeks after the final results were released, and prior to my graduation. I remember during the graduation I was one of the few students who had successfully secured a job shortly after the completion of the MBA course.
► With regards interview preparation, I mainly looked at key information about the company, the industry and their main clients. The interview was a two-way discussion and the main focus was on how I could bring my skills and apply them in the position- ensuring that my skills and attributes are a best fit to this job.
► I primarily decided to take a one-year career break to allow me to undertake this MBA course as part of my career development. I chose Coventry University London Campus (CULC) because it is one of the UK’s top 20 universities in UK (Guardian Business Ranking, 2017) and based at the heart of the World’s financial market in a city that is a global trading centre.
► During my MBA course, it helped me to develop business skills through an extensive range of work-related projects, experiences and business simulations. The university helped me to get an internship opportunity in my final term in a London based marketing agency, where I conducted my final project, that fortified me to understand the working culture and UK market.
► I completed my MBA in Global Business with Distinction in 2017 – passed all modules with distinction. I was as part of the ‘High Flyers’ during the course– high potential program for top university talents. At the end of the course, I was well equipped with all the necessary business skills to thrive in the internal job market as a competitive professional.
